What kind of person would you be?

Hi Reader,
First off, how are you doing today? Riding high? Rock bottom? Extreme meh? I hear ya! Go ahead and give yourself a shoulder-grippy for getting to where you are right now. Even if you're having the best of days, it never, ever hurts to acknowledge your efforts and remind yourself how far you've come. Good job!

Maybe this is a good time to bring up the impending zombie apocalypse!...In our imaginations, of course. Our routines might get stale, and every day can start to feel the same, but that doesn't necessarily indicate that something is majorly wrong. We've just habituated the core activities of our daily lives. If you're treating your life well, and your life is treating you well in return, then why change a process that's working for you?

To gain some perspective instead of throwing your life into upheaval, take a moment to throw your imagination into upheaval. First, think about all the stuff in your life that makes it comfortable: house, cars, clothes, furniture, kitchen gadgets, hobby supplies, books, shoes, etc. Second, make a list of intangibles that add joy to your existence: work, degrees, the letters before and after your name, health, friends, family, etc. Then imagine everything you just thought about completely vanishing from your life (turned off by a huge light switch, waving a magic wand, or yes, as a result of zombies taking over).

What kind of person would you be if all of these important aspects of your life suddenly disappeared?

Your answers can help you appreciate things and those of whom you've taken for granted, including yourself. Patterns might reveal key characteristics, ideas, or themes that you never thought important before. You could also discover qualities, habits, or ways of being that are hurting you and harming others.

Cognitive exercise completed! How are you feeling about life now?

Peace,
Tommy

P.S. - If you discovered thought patterns that are preventing you from growing and thriving, it's time to do something about it.

P.P.S. - Some people have indeed lost their entire lives and more through war, natural disasters, and other unfortunate incidences. They're all around you. What has become of them?
